Tonkawa is centrally located in Northern Oklahoma near the geographical center of the United State, granting easy access by nearly any method of transportation.

Major Highways
Tonkawa is located at the intersection of I-35, Highway 60 and Highway 77.  With two exits on I-35, the interstate connects Tonkawa to Oklahoma City and Dallas to the south and Wichita to the North. 

Air Service

The Blackwell-Tonkawa Municipal Airport is located five miles northwest of Tonkawa on I-35 (Exit 218).  This publicly-owned, non-commercial airport is staffed 24 hours a day and has a 3,500 foot lighted runway.

The Ponca City Regional Airport is located 15 miles east of Tonkawa.  This commercial airport is a full service field with a 7,200 foot runway and associated taxiways.  

Motor Freight Service

Six motor freight companies serve the area on an as-needed basis.  Tonkawa is within one day's shipping time of large metropolitan areas including Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Dallas, Wichita, and Kansas City.

Water Service

The Port of Catoosa is 121 miles southeast of Tonkawa.  With a channel depth of 9 feet, the Port is connected via the Arkansas River to the Mississippi River and Gulf of Mexico.
